Teshuba – Repentance

Teshuba (repentance): When we sin we violate the commandments of G-d. This action creates negative forces, energies and malakim (angels). These forces build barriers between ourselves and G-d’s Divine Presence. Teshuba is the force, power of repentance and restoration. Repentance breaks down the barriers and walls between ourselves and the Divine Presence and fellowship is restored. However, there may be remnants of negativity that can still mask, in part the Divine Presence. These remaining forces may cause negative habitual energies that need to be dealt with as a furtherance of Teshuba. There are times when true full repentance and Teshuba are hard to achieve. The only answer to this difficulty is prevalent, enduring repentance. However, even after repentance these forces still exist. They will try to again enslave the soul and bring one back into sin. Regardless, these forces are released into the cosmos perpetuating further negativity and damage. We can also give these forces the title of “consequences.” This in turn means that there is a further cost of sin and negative behavior. Our future path will be engaged by these forces repeatedly. Again, this may become the source of habitual practices we wish to be rid of. In this they affect our future and the future of all things in the cosmos by the weight of their negativity.

The only way these forces are destroyed is through positive spiritual activities and actions.

Thus, there is an exchange of powers and energies we must face when we sin or turn to negativity. As it is said “I’m Sorry” doesn’t fix anything. It requires trues diligence to resolve negativity. This behavior creates cosmic negativity not only in our lives but in the lives of those around us. Our faults affect others, and the sins of others affects us. The impact of these consequence is often so cosmic that they cause a ripple through time. This can be understood by the consequences of Hitlers activities. This activity has left a permanent scar on humanity and the cosmos.
