New Perspective on Paul

Today several Scholars have influenced the way we look at the Bible etc. This is especially true of the way we filter an understanding the Nazarean Codicil. And it is even more so with Hakham Shaul.

Thus, it is very true of how we read he works of Hakham Shaul. Many of us read Paul from the perspective we were taught at a Church or the Churches we attended in the past. These Ideas and thoughts are biased and prejudiced and cause us to read Hakham Shaul from our specific perspective. Scholars have recently begun to look at Hakham Shul through more “Jewish” eyes per se. They refer to this as a “New Perspective on Paul” (NPP). There is a vast number of Scholars web pages and articles on the varied topics that relate to this new Perspective. As you might imagine there are MANY pros and cons. It is my intention to post here differing articles and authors who write about these ideas. Where possible I will post an Amazon link to the book or books which can be purchased. There are MANY written articles which can be downloaded. When possible, I will post a hyper-link to available articles etc. so they can be read and studied. Just as there are pros and cons in the Academic community, I will post pros and cons for your reading and research. This means that you will need to maintain an open mind and to think out of your “Mental Box.” All of you have been studying here with B’ne Torah now for several years. You have the tools and skills to see Hakham Shaul from the perspective we have taught and presented in the Nazarean Codicil now for over 10 years. Nearly all this research I have produced is available on H Em. Rabbi Dr Hillel b David’s website. However, the greater portion of my research remains on my personal computer. I will make a great deal of relevant material available as it is required. You can go through the Torah Sederim (follow that link to a list of and link to Torah Sederim from Rosh HaShannah 5776 to present) to download all parts of the Nazarean Codicil related to our coming studies. Commentaries on Romans begin on Tammuz 28 5777 (from July 22th 2017) Web page, Tammuz 28 5777 MS Word Docx. My suggestion is that you set up a folder on your computer and download these files to that folder for later reference. I will be posting the Translation that may be slightly altered from that which is on the web (HE’s site).

I would also you to build a physical notebook for lesson materials and articles that can printed out for personal study.

As we go through our studies on Hakham Shaul you will find names of these Scholars where I am making a specific point from whatever perspective in relation to our basic view of Hakham Shaul. Again, this does not mean I agree with all the things you will be given to read. And you will see from time to time why I argue a point.

Next: After each class you will do a review in whatever format you choose and share your insights with the rest of the class. We will make these available to everyone on the Torah Focus web site which works in conjunction to H Em. Rabbi Dr Hillel b. David’s site at Bet Emunah.org.

This page will be altered each week for materials and news for the Romans class. Please check back regularly.

This week I suggest the following book which is available on Amazon for about $30. This is a great reference to have in your Library. However, it is not requisite to purchase the book for classes.
