This Torah Focus will looked at the High Holy Days, Mark and the Eucharist
We looked at Mark 14: 22-25
This final step of the Pesach Seder looks at the invention of the Christian “Eucharist.” How much legitimacy is there in the invention of the “Eucharist”? Can it really be derived from the Pesach Seder? How did the order of bread then wine find its origins in the Christian Communion?
We looked at the relation of Mordechai (Mark) to the Triennial Torah readings and the High Holidays.
This is a very informative class as we apply P’shat Ritual Hermeneutics to the texts we will be reading.

This weeks Torah reading followed a double portion of readings. Therefore, we have two sections of Mordechai to look at We will look at Yeshua’s claims against the Soferim. We will ask the question which Soferim was Yeshua talking to? And look at the widow who gave her two cents.

Mesorah of Mark 104b
This class looked at the relevance between B’Midbar 20:14-22:1, Judges 11: 12-21, Psalms 104: 10-18 and Mark 12: 13-17
We first delved into the technical problems of the translation. This problem takes up the dominate portion of the class. However, we look at the message of the coin of Caesar, where Yeshua states “render unto Caesar.”
The two triennial documents can be downloaded for study and review.

Mesorah of Mark #2
Midrashim continues with the series Mesorah of Mark. . This series continues our look at the “Gospel” of Mark from a new and exciting approach. We will take some time to look at the Tradition (Mesorah) or Mark with a new thesis in mind. This thesis postulates the idea that Mark was written in a Mishnaic fashion. The Mesorah” of Mark was transmitted to Mark by Peter his mentor and Sage. It will take us some time to work this thesis out. However, we are excited that this work will be full of revelation concerning Yeshua our Messiah.

Program #81 – Elul and Teshuva #5 “A look at the Soul”
In this program we look at the varied views of the soul. We have heard teachings that depict man as a trichotomy and dichotomy. Are these really the views of the Bible? Are these really Shaul’s (Paul) views? Or, was Shaul saying something deeper? Before we can repair the damage caused by sin we must understand how we were created. This may bse a different approach. Nevertheless it captures the essence of the Biblical view of the soul.

Program #80 – Elul and Teshuva #4 “Repairing the Damage caused by sin”
In this program we look at the connections we have to the Torah as a means for purifying ourselves from the sins of the year. We look at Perki Avot 4:2 where we are told that the consequence of a mitzvah is a mitzvah and that the consequence of sin is sin. This reminds us of the passage where we are told that what we sow is what we reap. We look at how to stop the process and find a path towards purity.
