Program #63 – Genuine Spirituality #6

Spirituality, The Apostolic View

We have looked at the fact that Shaul defines spirituality as Torah observance.  This allows us to understand the view of spirituality from the view of the Tanach.  However, what is the view of spirituality held by Yeshua’ talmidim?  Is their view abstract of different from the views we have delineated so far?

Please note that there are two different media files to choose from.  The first is AUDIO ONLY (MP3). The second is the usual Video that you have been accustomed to.  Also note that the Video is now coded in wide screen format.

A Taste of Hebrew #42 – Tavek

This program continues our work on the sixth verse of the first chapter of Bereshit.

I work on the phrase “in the midst” (b’toch) explaining the word “tevek” which appears only a few times without a prefex.  In our contemporary phrase the word appears as a phrase with a prefix.

Genuine Spirituality #5

28 Nisan 5769 - April 21, 2009 By: Dr. Walter Oakley Category: Torah Focus

Sin and the Torah

I look at Romans chapter 8 in brief review of Shaul and the Torah.  Then we begin to take a lexical look at the words sin and torah.  In the conclusion of this program I look at Romans 10:4 where it discusses Messiah as the “end” of the Torah (Law). What is the Greek word for “end”?  I define and clarify this concept in relation to Messiah, sin and the Torah

Counting the Omer

Torah Focus – with Dr. Walter Oakley
Counting the Omer – Keys to Spirituality

In this class we look at the Counting of the Omer from Vayikra (Leviticus) 23:15ff as a means of understanding the process of spiritual growth and maturity.

We contrast Peasch and a picture of being born into the Kingdom with Shavout (Pentecost) the receiving of the Torah at Sinai. Pesach teaches us to come to faith in G-d through Messiah.  Sinai teaches how that those who have come to faith should conduct themselves.

This is a positive class with a positive view of how the Torah is supposed to affect the life of the Believer.
